Loopself Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Loopself, an independent personal project created and operated by Natan Trolka ("we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using Loopself (the "App"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms").
Please read them carefully before using the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to use Loopself.
By signing up, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
If we discover an account belongs to someone under 18, we will immediately terminate it without notice and delete associated data in accordance with child safety requirements.
2. Nature of Service
Loopself is an AI-powered journalling and reflection tool designed for personal insight and emotional awareness.
It is not a substitute for professional therapy, counselling, or medical advice.
If you are in crisis or need mental health support, please contact a qualified professional or emergency service.
AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The App uses artificial intelligence to generate responses and insights. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unexpected. You should always use critical judgement and never rely solely on AI-generated content for important life decisions, mental health treatment, or crisis situations. We are not responsible for any actions you take based on AI-generated content.
3. Account and Access
You may create an account using your email address.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or misuse the platform.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
· Upload, share, or store any content that is illegal, abusive, or harmful.
· Attempt to interfere with the App's operation or security.
· Use Loopself for commercial purposes or to distribute harmful material.
We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts at our discretion if these rules are violated.
5. Data Collection and Privacy
Loopself collects limited personal data, including:
· Name and email address
· Journal entries and reflective content
· Usage logs and analytics data
All data is handled in compliance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR standards.
Your information is used solely to provide and improve the service.
Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following third-party service providers to operate Loopself:
· OpenAI - AI processing and content generation
· Firebase (Google) - Authentication and database services
· Amazon Web Services (AWS) - Cloud hosting and storage
These providers may process your data under strict contractual safeguards and data processing agreements that comply with GDPR. Your data may be processed in regions outside the UK/EU, but only where adequate safeguards are in place under UK data protection law.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovering the breach, in accordance with UK data protection law.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, data is retained for 30 days in encrypted backups for recovery purposes, then permanently deleted.
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
You may request deletion or export of your data at any time by contacting natan@loopselfapp.com.
A full Privacy Policy will be published alongside these Terms as the app evolves.
6. Free Access and Future Payments
Loopself is currently free to use as an MVP (Minimum Viable Product).
In the future, paid tiers may be introduced via Stripe or other secure payment processors.
By continuing to use the App at that time, you agree to the updated pricing and Terms which will be clearly communicated before any charges apply.
7. Intellectual Property and User Content
All content, design, branding, and code within Loopself are the intellectual property of Natan Trolka.
Users retain ownership of their personal journal entries but grant Loopself a limited licence to process and display them within the App for their own use.
User Responsibility for Backups
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of journal entries. While we provide export functionality, we do not guarantee data recovery in the event of technical failure, account deletion, or service termination.
8. User Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Loopself and Natan Trolka from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
· Your use or misuse of the App
· Your breach of these Terms
· Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
· Any content you submit to the App
This indemnity survives termination of your account and these Terms.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Loopself is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied.
We make no guarantees that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every purpose.
We specifically disclaim any warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or appropriateness of AI-generated content. The AI is a tool for reflection only and may produce responses that are incorrect, biased, or harmful.
Your use of Loopself is entirely at your own discretion and risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Loopself and its creator will not be liable for any loss, damage, or emotional distress resulting from use of the App, including but not limited to:
Any AI-generated content or advice
Service interruptions or technical failures
Loss of data or journal entries
Actions taken based on insights or reflections generated by the App
Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, internet service provider failures, or third-party service outages.
Loopself is a tool for reflection, not therapy, and should be used responsibly.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App at any time if a user breaches these Terms, misuses the platform, or compromises its integrity.
You may delete your account and data at any time by contacting support.
12. Dispute Resolution
If you have any dispute or complaint about the App, please contact us at natan@loopselfapp.com first.
We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes informally before any legal action is taken.
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales as stated in Section 13.
13. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated occasionally to reflect improvements or legal requirements.
The latest version will always be available within the App or at loopselfapp.com (once live).
Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Loopself regarding use of the App, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
17. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent.
We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or by operation of law, without your consent.
